Summary: "Better than GPS"
DeLorme map books are a tremendous resource. Not only do they have detailed maps, they have info on natural and historic sites, fishing, camping and more.
These books should belong to anyone who likes to travel, be it near or far!

Summary: "Indispensible resource"
Includes all the necessary details. We had been using AAA maps but they don't show most small-town streets and other details that this book shows. If you plan on wandering away from the major highways and interstates, this book is all you'll need. Our New Hampshire version has a sun-faded cover and curling pages, but it's still as useful as ever.

Summary: "Terrific set of topo maps for outdoor adventures in Massachusetts"
This book of topographic maps are terrific for anyone interested in fishing, hunting, hiking, camping or any other outdoor activity in Massachusetts. Roughly forty maps cover the entire state, and the maps show roads, streams, ponds, rivers, mountains, state parks, etc. There is also a list of parks, campgrounds, wildlife managed areas, etc. in the front of the book, as well as a collection of historic sites, tourist attractions, public golf courses, etc. There are zoom-ins of a few of the biggest cities (i.e. Boston and some of the burbs), but this is really not a great resource if you want to navigate through the cities. If your interest is to find out which road will take you closest to the stream where you want to fish or the pond where you want to set up a duck blind, this book can't be beat. If you are looking to find a restaurant in Boston, you could use these maps in a pinch, but I'd recommend you look elsewhere. An indispensable resource for outdoor adventures, usable but less than perfect resource for urban adventures.

Summary: "Great if going to Boston but......"
If you're going to Salem, this atlas is worthless!!!! I don't understand the other reviews mentioning Salem, very misleading. They must be talking about another atlas because it's almost as if they show Salem as an afterthought. There are two tiny sections of Salem in this atlas. One section cuts Salem in half with no detail & the other is at the edge of the page so you basically, again, see no detail. That's just it, as historic as Salem is, you want detail. I don't understand why there wasn't a page dedicated to just Salem & surrounding towns. I was very disappointed.
If you're going to Boston, this atlas is VERY detailed. I'll definitely use it then but don't go by the other reviews if you plan on going to Salem. Get another atlas.

Hey! I like 'em. I've used these books for most of my trips for many years and they really are unmatchable time savers. ... With these books there is enough detail to find the feature you are looking for, yet not overly detailed as to require a lot of page flipping. ...To use as a fine detail map for driving they give terrific information about which streets to take. We used ours to try to negotiate the traffic at rush hour in Salem, Mass. ... The book was able to show us alternatives to avoid the worst of it. I also like the DelOrme software on my computer. ...
